Prana is universal life force, the master form of energy through which the entire universe comes into being. There are five major currents of life force called Prana Vayus that move in our bodies, move our bodies, and facilitate all of our bodily functions. Join Betsy for this fun, experiential Yoga Study Circle to learn about and experience the five Prana Vayus. This class will include discussion, pranayama, asana, and meditation. Shamani Yoga creates tranquility of the body and mind through fluid asana classes that weave meditation, breath, and self-awareness into every moment and movement. Master teachers Betsy Ceva and Charlene Bradin believe in a well-rounded physical practice that also incorporates the wisdom of traditional yoga philosophy. Betsy and Charlene founded Shamani Yoga following the loss of Birchwood Center, their well-known yoga and massage studio in Nyack NY, to the Covid19 pandemic. Shamani Yoga was their response to listening to nature and asking themselves, “what do we need now?” Shamani (meaning to create a tranquil mind) was a return to their roots, uniting their strengths and talents to share the essence of yoga and self-care from their home. It distills 22 years of building a multifaceted yoga and massage center into this smaller, more intimate practice that fosters peace and transformation. Through movement, meditation, breath, and self-reflection, Shamani Yoga enables a deeper understanding of one’s true Self. We offer a weekly schedule of group yoga classes, private and semi-private yoga sessions, online yoga workshops, study circles, and special events, life coaching via phone or Zoom, and massage therapy.
Betsy Ceva, E-RYT 500, specializes in Gentle Yoga, Restorative Yoga, and Hatha Yoga for beginning through advanced level students. Betsy’s life-long experience as a modern dancer, choreographer, and dance instructor has shaped her unique style of yoga. Betsy’s yoga classes have been described as magic; with expertly crafted sequencing that builds from the first pose to the ultimate letting go. Charlene Bradin, RYT 200, grew up in Rockland County, NY where she still resides. As a teenager she began working in her family’s retail business and stayed for 14 years. Working in the family store gave her a well-rounded understanding of how to run a thriving small business. Not only is Charlene the mastermind behind all inner-workings of Shamani Yoga, but she is also an amazing yoga teacher, as well.
